A Split Personality

WSF– This is really great… Sometimes people with severe epilepsy undergo a surgery in which the connections between the two halves of the brain are severed, and these “split-brain” people exhibit absolutely remarkable behaviors. For example, if you put two different words in front of their eyes so each eye can only see one, their hands can draw both things simultaneously, but they won’t know what one of their hands was doing. In this video, Alan Alda, the director of “Being John Malkovich”, and a neurologist discuss some interesting aspects of this.
